North Cape May

Welcome to North Cape May. North Cape May is a neighboring community to the Villas, also within Lower Township. It is home to The Cape May-Lewes Ferry, a ferry system that traverses a 17 mile crossing of the Delaware Bay to connect North Cape May to Lewes, Delaware. A trip on the ferry is a favorite among residents and vacationers, it sails daily and is open to all methods of travel such as foot passengers, bicycles, and vehicles. Spend an afternoon exploring the galleries in Historic Cold Spring Village, a living history village dedicated to life in the first years of American independence or take a walk through the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum, a historic aircraft hangar, and learn about the history of aviation with interactive exhibits and real planes. Climb the 199 steps up the original, cast iron spiral stairway to the top of the 1859 Cape May Lighthouse, a historical landmark, and see an astonishing view of the Delaware Bay and Atlantic Ocean, the surrounding nature trails of Cape May Point State Park, and Cape May Point Borough. Take a trip over to the World War II Lookout Tower, built in 1942, now the last freestanding WWII Lookout Tower in New Jersey. Inside, a staircase takes you to the sixth floor spotting gallery where Observers will answer your questions and changing exhibits highlight varying topics of history related to the tower. Another historical attraction is The Atlantus, a concrete ship from World War I, that you can find sunken in the Bay at Sunset Beach. With various historical landmarks, dining options, nature trails, close proximity to Cape May and Wildwood beaches, fantastic sunset views along the coast of the Delaware Bay, there is always something to do in North Cape May!
