Welcome to Wildwood. Wildwood is famous for its wide, sandy beaches and iconic Sightseer tram car that runs along the 38-block World Famous Wildwood Boardwalk, which is packed with eateries, shops, waterparks, and thrill rides. “Wildwood by the Sea” has been the number one fun-filled family destination for many generations. Take a step back in time and explore the local culture. Wildwood has several historical museums and offers the largest collection of mid-20th century architecture, known as Doo Wop Architecture, in the country. Enjoy fantastic dining options from gourmet to boardwalk fare, local wineries, breweries, and Nightlife once the sun goes down. Wildwood offers fun for the whole family with countless festivals and events all year long.

You’re sure to have a blast at either of our two incredible oceanfront water parks on those hot summer days. Our amusement piers are packed with games, shopping, arcades, great food, and fun for the whole family!

The Attractions

You may think the beach, boardwalk, and amusement piers get all the attention, but keep in mind our island is packed with historical attractions. There’s so much history throughout our 5 mile island, take a step back in time and check out everything the Wildwoods have to offer.

The Doo Wop

The island’s architecture built in the 1950s and 1960s, reflected the postwar spirit of vacationers and popular culture. Highlighted by dense building fabric presented a varied and exaggerated spectacle of designs, all competing for the passing motorists’ attention. Angular elements, space-age imagery, tropical themes and colors, with spectacular neon signage turning up the volume even more, combined to form a sensational display that can still be seen in the Wildwoods today.
